The August edition of the “Andersen European Employment Insights” newsletter is now available, covering the key developments in employment law and practical insights from 13 jurisdictions across Europe.
This month, we are looking at a number of new developments with direct implications for business owners:
- Data protection and employee privacy: a fine of €460,000 in Italy for unauthorised access to former employees’ emails and a substantial civil award in Poland following an accidental data breach;
- Equal pay and working conditions: recent court rulings in Croatia and Spain have called into question pay differentials and employers’ ability to unilaterally alter working conditions;
- International mobility: Ireland, Latvia and Switzerland are reforming their immigration and work permit rules, which has significant implications for access to international talent;
- New ways of working: Lithuania is tackling algorithmic management and platform work, whilst Moldova is examining zero-hours contracts and other measures aimed at increasing labour market flexibility.
