Javier Ortega is a Partner in Andersen’s Real Estate Law practice in the Madrid office.

Javier has over 25 years’ experience. He specialises in highly complex commercial property transactions, ranging from data centres, office and logistics buildings to hotel assets and holiday resorts. Throughout his career, he has advised on sales and leasing transactions, town planning, mortgage law and structured property finance, including the acquisition of non-performing loans and debt restructuring.

He has previously worked at firms such as Freshfields (Vienna office), Uría y Ménéndez, Cuatrecasas and Herbert Smith Freehills.

He has also been recognised by the prestigious directories Chambers Europe and Legal 500, amongst others. Furthermore, he combines his professional work with teaching as a lecturer in Real Estate Financing and Acquisition on the GMRED Master’s programme at the IE School of Architecture.
