Isabell Büschel is currently Of Counsel in the Public Law area of the Madrid office.
She has more than 15 years of professional experience specializing in European Union Law and Public Law. She started her professional career in international law firms such as BBLP Moquet Borde (Paris), Linklaters (Cologne and Paris), as well as having worked at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and at the Court of Justice of the European Union. In 2014, she started as a consultant in Environmental, Energy and Transport Law, based in Madrid and Brussels.
She specializes in the European field, mainly in public law and European Union law, in matters related to environmental protection, health, energy, transport and infrastructures.
Isabell holds a PhD in Public Law from Aix-Marseille University. Her doctoral thesis, co-supervised by Sandrine Maljean-Dubois and Rostane Mehdi, focuses on the protection of health within the tension between economic freedoms and the role of the European judge in balancing two equally important requirements.
She also regularly participates in conferences and publishes in specialized journals. In addition, she has co-authored several studies commissioned by European institutions, such as the European Parliament and the European Commission.
