Javier Mata is a Senior Partner at Andersen.

He has previously worked at J. Mata Estudio Jurídico, Cuatrecasas, Asesores Legales y de Inversiones, Rodríguez-Miranda & Mata and Olleros Abogados.

Javier Mata specializes in bankruptcy law and restructurings, civil procedural law and arbitration. He has worked on cases regarding financial criminal law and measures for the prevention of occupational hazards.

He has advised and still advises as counsel to the parties involved in various corporate law arbitration proceedings, derived from corporate conflicts. Furthermore, he has also advised clients in technically complex arbitration proceedings derived from construction and real estate law. As arbitrator listed in the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, he has resolved a large number of arbitration proceedings related to various different areas (banking law, industrial disputes…)

Currently, Javier is a lecturer of Insolvency Law at Instituto de Empresa (IE) and the Universidad Carlos III and has been a lecturer in the past of the program “Creation and Organisation of Law Practices” at the “School for Law Practice” (in Spanish, “Escuela de Práctica Jurídica COLEX”), as well as of “Corporations and Groups” at the Master’s Program of the “International Legal Consultancy of Companies of the Superior Institute of Law and Economics” (in Spanish “Asesoría Jurídica Internacional de Empresas del Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía (ISDE).

Also, Javier Mata has lectured on civil and criminal procedural law at the Colegio Universitario of Toledo, at the Francisco de Vitoria University and University of San Pablo CEU, as well as at the Centre for Studies and Investigation of the Madrid Bar Association (in Spanish, “Centro de Estudios e Investigación del Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Madrid”).
