Jaime Olleros analyzes the challenges of the Government in the post-Covid era

The managing partners of the main law firms in Spain consider that it is necessary to take care of the business framework of our country with measures that will make it the true engine of economic recovery.

For his part, Jaime Olleros, Managing Partner of Andersen in Spain, points out that, in the employment field, the government must legislate with prudence and not because of teleworking and equality measures urgency, given that these must be structural reforms. It would be necessary to maintain the 2012 labour reform and to extend the Covid furlough schemes in 2020 and possibly into 2021 for certain sectors.

It should also focus on improving health care legislation and supporting research in sectors such as biomedicine or the digitalisation of companies. From the fiscal point of view, reforms that prevent or delay productive investment or internationalisation should not be adopted and, finally, the Executive should also improve the Public Employee Statute by introducing performance evaluations.
