Best Lawyers 2021 acknowledges 55 Andersen professionals among the best lawyers in Spain

The Best Lawyers directory recognises 55 Andersen professionals among the best lawyers in Spain with a total of 80 awards in this 2021 edition.
The publication presents the data as a result of the evaluations of the colleagues, who vote for the candidates they consider worthy of receiving this international recognition, according to the quality of the legal services provided and their professional skills.
The outstanding lawyers from the Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Seville offices in this edition are present in more than 30 practices analysed by Best Lawyers. Among them, the directory recognises Iñaki Planas, director of the Litigation area, as 'Lawyer of the year' in Spain in Criminal Defence.
The Tax Department includes 11 nominated professionals: Belén Palao, Miguel Blasco, José Manuel Pumar, Patricia Motilla, Toni Prat, Yago Martos, Antonio Ballester, Álvaro Silva, Francisco Guijarro, Miguel Gordillo, and Jesús Alemany. In Corporate and M&A the directory recognizes the partners Jaime Olleros, Carlos Salinas, Ignacio Aparicio, Jaime Espejo, José Ignacio Olleros, together with Jaime Aguilar, director in the firm, and Ignacio Ariño, senior associate. Also recognised for the first time was the director Santiago Fuertes, together with José Trujillo, senior associate.
In the Employment practice, the board of directors recognizes the partners Alfredo Aspra, Jaime Silva, Pablo Santos and Sergio Juárez, together with the of counsel José Antonio Sanfulgencio, and for the first time in the area Puy Abril, senior associate. Likewise, in the Banking and Financial Law practice, it recognizes Guillermo Yuste, Ignacio Aparicio, Carlos Salinas and Miguel Blasco.
In the Insolvency and Restructuring area, Best Lawyers highlights the partners Javier Mata, Álvaro Gámez, Benjamín Prieto, Íñigo Rodríguez-Sastre and Guillermo Yuste. Luis Cortezo, together with Rodríguez-Sastre, stands out in Arbitration and Mediation and in Procedural Law, an area in which the guide also highlights Benjamín Prieto, the of counsel Luis Morón and the directors Carlos Soto and Vanesa Fernández. In Criminal Law, the board of directors recognizes the partners Andrés Zapata and José María Rebollo and for the first time in the area Álvaro Martín, senior associate.
For their part, José Vicente Morote, Carlos Mínguez, Antonio Ñudi and Arancha Bengoechea partners of the Public Law area of the firm, have been recognized by Best Lawyers in the Environmental Law practices. Mínguez and Morote also stand out in Administrative Law along with José Miguel López, director of the firm, and Silvia del Saz, of counsel to the firm, who is also recognised in Public Finance and Planning Law, while in Land Use and Planning Law, Carlos Peña, José Vicente Morote and Antonio Ñudi stand out.
