The Legal 500 has published its fourth edition of the GC Powerlist Iberia, which this year recognises the work of more than 100 legal advisors of the most influential companies in Spain and Portugal jointly classified in different categories, in a ranking whose publication and presentation has had the collaboration of Andersen Tax & Legal, which has supported this initiative since its first edition.

The GC Powerlist Iberia Teams 2019, which was unveiled in June, was presented in Madrid at an event attended by in-house lawyers who stand out for the quality, excellence and legal innovation of their work in the Spanish and Portuguese markets. It is a guide that distinguishes the Spanish and Portuguese markets, for which The Legal 500 has carried out independent research, including nominations, background research and interviews, culminating in the publication of the most outstanding.

Javier Mata, Partner of Andersen Tax & Legal in Spain and director of the Madrid office, and Ella Marshall, EMEA editor of The Legal 500, opened this fourth edition of the presentation of the Iberia Teams Powerlist GC in Madrid. During his speech, Javier Mata pointed out that in-house lawyers are the "backbone" of companies and groups. Andersen's partner also assured that in-house lawyers have qualities that are increasingly envied by the firm's professionals. "Not only do they have a deep knowledge of the law, but also of the organizations and sectors in which they operate," summarized Javier Mata.
