This new incorporation is a further step in the firm's commitment to improve the specialization of its services in the energy sector

Andersen has appointed Federico Belausteguigoitia as a Partner in the Corporate and M&A practice in the Madrid office, thus reinforcing the capabilities of this department, mainly in the energy sector.

Federico Belausteguigoitia holds a degree in Law from the University of Deusto and a Master's degree in Corporate Legal Consultancy from IE Business School. He has 20 years of professional experience in Corporate and M&A and he worked at CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo and was a partner at DWC-RCD, as well as Legal Counsel at Iberia.

Belausteguigoitia specialises in the energy sector, specifically in investment and divestment transactions of renewable assets, advising on the acquisition and/or sale of licences, permits and authorisations for the construction of renewable energy facilities. In addition, he has been recognised by the international guide Chambers & Partners in the area of Energy & Natural Resources.

He also has experience in the aeronautical sector, mainly in commercial aviation, advising airlines, service providers and other related companies in the negotiation of contracts for their activity in Spain, as well as in relations with regulatory bodies and consumer authorities.

José Vicente Morote and Íñigo Rodríguez-Sastre, Managing Partners of Andersen in Iberia, emphasised that Federico Belausteguigoitia's extensive professional experience represents "an important reinforcement in the commercial and M&A area led by Ignacio Aparicio and Ivo Portabales and that, jointly with the incorporation this year of Carmen March and Carmen Mozún, allows the department to grow especially in the energy area, given the relevance of the sector at present and for the coming years.”
