This incorporation consolidates the area as a reference within the firm and reinforces its will to continue growing with top quality professionals

Andersen in Spain incorporates Partner Pedro Rubio into its Madrid office, reinforcing its Public and Regulatory Law area as the firm continues to expand the breadth of its practices in the country. The department, led by Managing Partner José Vicente Morote, now has five Partners in Madrid and eight Partners at the national level. With this incorporation, it consolidates as an area of reference within the firm and reinforces its strong will to continue growing with top quality professionals, as is the case of Pedro Rubio.

Pedro Rubio holds a law degree from Deusto University and has more than 25 years of experience in which he has been involved in legal advice and management of transactions and legal proceedings of significant relevance both in Spain and before the General Court of the European Union, in the areas of expropriations, public procurement, important cartels, resolution of credit institutions, energy and asset liability proceedings. He has been recognized as a leading lawyer in Public Law by the most prestigious legal directories such as Chambers and Partners and is a member of the Academic Faculty of the Instituto de la Empresa.

Previously, he worked at Cuatrecasas and at Ramón Hermosilla, where he was a partner. He has been a partner at Ontier and head of the Regulatory and Public Law Department in that firm's Madrid office.

The Managing Partners of Andersen in Spain, José Vicente Morote and Íñigo Rodríguez-Sastre, have highlighted Rubio's experience and track record and have stated that, with his incorporation, "Andersen's Public department increases its capabilities, adding a team of more than 30 professionals in Spain covering all areas of the public and regulatory field, with great specialization in energy, telecommunications, mobility, urban planning, environment and public subsidies". "Our Public and Regulatory Law department, with an internal sectorial organization, is one of the most highly specialized in the market and the arrival of Pedro Rubio, a great professional with a more than proven calibre, will undoubtedly contribute to improve it", they have asserted.
