Andersen incorporates Antonio Matute and Fernando Beltrán as Tax and Labour Partners in Bilbao
| News | Tax / Employment Law and Social Security / Public and Regulatory Law
Andersen starts its activity in Bilbao. The firm headed by José Vicente Morote adds Antonio Matute and Fernando Beltrán as new partners of the Tax and Labour departments in its office, respectively, in the Biscayan capital. In addition to Antonio Matute and Fernando Beltrán, who joins the Firm with a team of four lawyers, we must add Jon Sebastián, lawyer of the Public and Regulatory department, who will head the opening this area in Bilbao.
With a degree in Law from the University of Deusto, Antonio Matute has more than 33 years of experience in the field of corporate taxation, both national and international, as well as in relation to the specificities of the tax legislation of the Basque Country. During his career, he has advised numerous Spanish companies in their internationalization processes, as well as in the investment of multinational groups in Spain. He has also worked on the tax side of corporate acquisitions and sales, corporate reorganizations and restructurings, among others, in sectors such as energy, automotive and food, mainly.
Fernando Beltrán holds a law degree from the University of Deusto and has more than 15 years’ experience. As a lawyer, he advises companies in all areas of Labour Law, Social Security and Occupational Risk Prevention; in particular, in corporate restructuring processes, collective bargaining or modification of working conditions, among others. His addition to Andersen's Bilbao office is accompanied by a team of four professionals: Pablo Matheu and Carmen Gómez as Senior Associates, and Sara Lamaza and Eduardo López as Associates.
Finally, also joining the Bilbao team is Jon Sebastián, a lawyer in the Public and Regulatory department, who will open this practice in the Bilbao office. Sebastián specializes in advising on public procurement, environmental, urban planning, infrastructure, asset liability, public employment and infrastructure matters, among others.
José Vicente Morote, Managing Partner of Andersen Iberia, points out that “the Firm starts its activity in Bilbao with three relevant areas such as Labour, Public and Tax; a matter, the latter, which in the Basque Country presents particularities that require a deep knowledge and experience”. In this sense, José Vicente Morote adds “the incorporations of Antonio and Fernando are perfectly aligned with our strategy of quality and specialization, and of betting on having in all our offices first class teams in the main areas of business law. In this sense, it is also a great satisfaction to have Jon Sebastián in our office in the Biscayan capital, a lawyer of enormous technical solvency and with an extraordinary projection”.
The beginning of Andersen's operations in Bilbao comes after the opening of its office, a 661 square meter space located on the third floor of number 35 of the central Gran Vía Don Diego López de Haro, a few meters from the iconic Plaza de Federico Moyúa, and with the capacity to accommodate fifty professionals.
