Andersen has appointed Íñigo Zumalabe and Ramón Portela as partners in the areas of M&A and Tax

Andersen has hired Íñigo Zumalabe and Ramón Portela as Partners in the M&A and Tax departments, respectively, in the Madrid office. These new appointments represent a further step in the firm's commitment to boost specialisation, specifically in the areas of Private Equity and international taxation and expatriates.
Íñigo Zumalabe holds a degree in Law from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas and has more than 20 years of professional experience, during which time he has specialised in M&A and Private Equity. Previously, he has worked at Ecija, Freshfields and Garrigues.
Throughout his professional career, he has advised national and international funds, as well as large corporations in all types of M&A transactions. He has also been involved in numerous investment, divestment and joint venture transactions in various economic sectors.
Ramón Portela holds a degree in Economics and Business Studies from the University of La Coruña and a Master's Degree in Business Tax Consultancy from the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid. He has more than 25 years of professional experience, in which he has specialised in the area of international tax and expatriates, being an expert in advising in international environments, both for companies and their employees on international assignments.
Throughout his professional career, he has acquired extensive experience in advising on corporate restructuring tax processes, international tax systems, international mobility of workers, tax audits and administrative procedures in different jurisdictions. Previously, he has worked at PwC, BDO Abogados y Asesores Tributarios and Mercer Consulting.
