Judith Casas is a Senior Associate at Andersen and head of the Firm's Labour Law department at the Barcelona office.

Judith has more than 20 years of experience in technical employment legal advice, being specialized in preventive legal advice and legal defence for companies, both national and international and belonging to different business sectors, in the field of labour relations and social security.

Previously she worked at Pricewaterhousecoopers, J&M Lawyers and Economists, as well as a freelance professional.

Her areas of expertise include

  • Recurrent legal and labour advice to medium and large companies, both national and international, regarding the resolution of queries related to their day-to-day and due to the application of current labour legislation and application of the relevant collective bargaining agreement.        
  • Advising clients on both purchase and sale operations, she carries out labour audits in their different modalities (due diligence, vendor due diligence, data room, diagnostics), evaluating and quantifying employment risks and responsibilities, social security and occupational risk prevention. She also advises on the post-trading process.
  • Assistance and advice in procedural proceedings, both judicial and administrative, and in filing claims in any employment and social security matters.
  • Appearances before the Labour and Social Security Inspectorate (minutes of infraction and/or liquidation), mediations and prior administrative conciliations before the corresponding employment authorities.
  • Assistance to companies in matters of Social Security, on the one hand, providing services related to any matter related to contributions and benefits and, on the other hand, carrying out and implementing the necessary procedures to be carried out before the Social Security System in the management of any matter related to them.
  • Legal and labour advice on collective bargaining processes in the broadest sense of the term (enterprise restructuring processes, both for the termination of contracts and reduction of working hours; processes of substantial modification of working conditions, geographical mobility, negotiation of collective agreements, etc.) and application of internal flexibility measures.
  • Advice on employment issues, such as permits and licenses, disciplinary regime, prevention of labour risks, preparation of legal reports, as well as any employment related documents (resources, writings, letters of sanction/dismissal, contracts, etc), senior management, internationalization processes, among others.
  • Analysis of company HR management from strictly legal contingencies, assessment of their situation and providing solutions that provide greater internal flexibility.

During her career, she has advised various entities in the chemical and pharmaceutical sector, hotel and catering, automotive, construction, iron and steel, textile, insurance, financial and banking sectors, among many others.

Judith Casas is a lecturer in the Master of Labour Law at the ISDE study centre in Barcelona.
