Íñigo Rodríguez-Sastre, Elena Sevila and Teresa Rodriguez de las Heras participate in the 6th Arbitration Open 2020, which has been organised in a virtual format for the first time

The Arbitration Open 2020, organised by the European Arbitration Association, addressed issues such as the challenges of arbitration in the 21st century and its financing. This edition, which due to the current situation has had to be broadcast for the first time in a virtual format, has shown that the adaptation of arbitration to new technologies is emerging and that it will be reasonable to establish hybrid formulas of operation in the future. Regarding the tools that are facilitating this virtual adaptation, the Open has analysed the positive evolution of remote hearings.

On 7th October, Íñigo Rodríguez-Sastre, Elena Sevila and Teresa Rodriguez de las Heras led the Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) panel of the 2020 Arbitration Open, aimed at resolving minor disputes or those of lesser importance. During their presentation, all the speakers agreed on their interest in the future, especially for the platform economy or developed in technological frameworks.
