Antonio Cañadas and his Team join Andersen to Strengthen the M&A Practice in Madrid

The joining of this team reinforces the firm's commitment to the transactional area in a year that is expected to break records in M&A transactions. Andersen's Corporate and Commercial practice in Spain has 55 professionals and eight partners specialising in M&A

Andersen adds Antonio Cañadas as a Partner in the Madrid office’s M&A practice. He joins the firm with his team from Squire Patton Boggs LLP to expand capabilities in the corporate field. The firm thus adds three new professionals in the transactional practice, including senior associates Teresa García and Borja Echegoyen.

Antonio Cañadas holds a degree in Law from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a master's degree in EU and International Law from the Université Catholique de Louvain. With more than 20 years of experience, he had previously been a partner at Squire Patton Boggs since 2014 and worked at Hammonds and Nauta Dutilh. During his professional career, Antonio has specialized in M&A, advising a wide range of national and international companies on divestments, structural modifications and business reorganizations, as well as general corporate and commercial advice.

Cañadas leads a Corporate and M&A team with extensive experience in investments by international funds in Spain, mainly in sectors such as education, industry or real estate. Additionally, he advises large Spanish companies on their investments abroad. He has also been involved in advising entrepreneurs – mainly assisting them with national and international business angel agreements and venture capital financing rounds.

Borja Echegoyen, who holds a degree in Law from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and a master's degree in Corporate Legal Consultancy from IE [what is IE Law School?] Law School, has more than 13 years of experience. He specialises in the areas of Corporate Law and M&A. Teresa García has a double degree in Business Administration and Management and Law from the University of Salamanca. With more than 10 years of experience, she focuses on corporate transactions.

The Corporate department led by Partners Ignacio Aparicio and Ivo Portabales has 55 professionals, and its team offers comprehensive services in corporate transactions, providing a solution to the volume of transactions initiated last year.
